So they wont stick properly in not applied correctly. Also after regular usage they tend to come out very soon or gets damage. Also if you are a person who puts your phone on the mobile holders they tend to come out by slipping to the edges.

Get Old WhatsApp Status feature Android

WhatsApp recent update have brought “Status” feature, which is same as Instagram Stories (or a Snapchat Stories). The new Status feature in WhatsApp requires you to post photos, videos & GIFs, which only be valid for 24 hours. If you don't like this new feature at all, this post will guide you how you can use the old text based status feature back on your android device.

You may need few files. Based on your need download as required.

• Whats app 2.17.60 : ApkMirror
• Solid Explorer File Manager : Play Store

You are free to use any File manager. It should have feature to briwser root directory. I have used above.

Steps to Get Old Whats Feature

There are two tips that are going to work on both the rooted and non rooted device.

For the Rooted Device

In case you device is rooted follow these steps.

• Go to Apps section from the android setting menu and search for 'Whatsapp'. Open it and click on "Force Stop". Close any running instance from app switcher too.

• Open your manager and go inside the root directory "data->data->com.whatsapp->shared_prefs folder". Now if you are using Solid Explorer then from setting enable Root Browsing Feature first. See the video for more detailed steps and instructions.

• Inside the shared_prefs folder open the file “com.whatsapp_preferences.xml”. 
• Use the search/find feature and find the entry “status mode” value=”1″. Now you need to change the value field from 1 to 0. The new entry should look like “status mode” value=”0″.  Watch the video mentioned for more detailed steps.
• Save the file and exit. 
• Open the whatsapp and you will get your old whats app features back on new whatsapp.

Important Point

• If you ever updated your whats app you may need to repeat the same step again.

For the Rooted/Non Rooted Device

This method will work on both the rooted and non rooted device. There are few drawbacks too. You will not be able to get the latest improvements updates from whats app. 

• Enable the allow installation from unkown sources under settings>security.

• Uninstall the current version of the whats app installed.
• Download the old 2.17.60 version apk from the link mentioned above.
• Install the downloaded apk and use the old feature.

Important Point

• If you updated your whatsapp from play store then you will loose all of these feature. So make sure not to update the whats app.

Steps to Follow

Follow these steps and mentioned,

Developer Option Chnages

After you get to the settings go to the “About device” and select on the “build number.”After a few taps you'll see the prompt and then tap four more times and you're done. Then select on the back button and head back into the original base settings menu on the OnePlus 3 & OnePlus 3T. You will see a new entry called "developer options".

Once you have enabled the developer option, go inside this and look for two entries

• Advance Reboot
• Doze Mode

You have to turn on both the settings as below,

Battery Settings

Now go back to main settings and then go to battery section. Here you will see three dots on the top right corner below the date and time. Click it andyou will see few options. Select the "Aggressive doze & app hibernation"

You need to turn this feature off for now.

App Settings

Under the main settings, go to the apps setting and look for following apps,

• Google Play Services
• Google Play Store

First go inside the 'Google Play Services', then select 'storage' and here select 'Manage Space'

Here you need to select the option 'CLEAR ALL DATA'. Do the same for Google Play Store and go inside the storage section. Select the CLEAR CACHE. Once you do that, press the power button and click on reboot option, you will see recovery option. select it.

I have two both the options here if you have installed the Custom Recovery like TWRP or the default Stock Recovery. First lets see for the defult Stock Recovery,

Using Stock Recovery

Once you see the recovery language menu option, select 'English and you will see 5 more options after that. Here you have to select the 'Wipe Data and Cache' and you will again see 3 more options. You need to select 'Wipe Cache' here.

Do not select any other option except the 'Wipe Case'. Once the cache is cleared you can reboot your device.

Using Custom Recovery

After you are inside the TWRP recovery page, 

go inside the wipe and select 'Dalvik' & 'Cache' option as shown below.

Once the cache is cleared successfully, you can reboot your device back normally.

After following all these steps your device should not be having any battery drain issues.
