Now that the Finnish company, Nokia, has been freed from its legal bonds after Microsoft bought the mobile company in 2014, rumors are already spreading that the company is planning to make a comeback. A screengrab from a video posted on Nokia's Official  YouTube  channel Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri has announced the Finnish company’s intention to return to the smartphone business in 2016 with a new set of plan trhat is much different from earlier that we used to know so far. Speaking to Manager Magazin in Germany, the 47-year-old executive noted that Nokia could design the new handsets and then licence the designs and Nokia name to as yet un-named partner. Rumored Nokia Phones : Not terribly long ago, Nokia broke Microsoft’s hold on them and began planning to create their own smartphones. Due to a non-compete clause, they were unable to manufacture smartphones for awhile. That clause has since expired and the rumor mill has been going wild with possible Nokia  smartphones after relatively good reviews for the N1 Tablet, powered by Android. While Microsoft still owns the Lumia brand that Nokia made, Nokia can still manufacture smartphones under their own name. After an official statement denying a comeback in 2016, then a confirmation that would be a comeback, Nokia’s rumored smartphones have become an urban legend of sorts. Rumored Nokia Phones : Nokia has been forced out of the smartphone game over the last couple of years, as part of its deal with Microsoft following the sale of the Lumia brand. But the non-complete clause that was in place is up now, leaving the Finnish firm free to develop and launch new phones. A new leak on Weibo , showing a chunky handset, suggests the company has already started, but don't get too excited yet, this may not be the phone you're looking for. Metal mystery Supposedly the handset is made completely of metal and it looks a lot like the HTC One A9 from the back, which isn't such a bad thing, even if that phone was already derivative of the iPhone 6S. After Microsoft acquired Nokia’s Devices and Services division back in 2014, it was assumed that that would be the end of relations with Microsoft and Nokia – at least as far as phones are concerned. A new rumour has emerged from a tip given to NPU that Nokia’s high-end smartphone planned for next year will ship with both Windows and Android variants. We are not sure how likely this rumour is and note that the device doesn’t appear to be 100% similar with other C1 renders (which aren’t consistent with themselves) in the first place) and the probability of Nokia turning back to Windows on mobile – albeit as a side OS as opposed to a main – seems quite low. Claimed Nokia C1 render shows Android & Windows 10 Mobile variants First things first!! We can’t verify the authenticity of these images as this will be the first time we have received any tip from the tipster. Also it is not that difficult to create such images if one has some skill. So, above render claims to be of upcoming Nokia Android smartphone Nokia C1, a name we have heard in rumors many times. The interesting thing about these new renders is however the claim that emerges about it coming in two variants: Android and Windows 10 Mobile. That’s where it becomes more doubtful!! Nokia will take Android route that’s we have heard, as it allows them to use the Z Launcher as the OS UI Layer. Well, this one again comes from Evan Blass who has posted above image on Twitter with captions “Nokia Reader, Circa 2013”. So, seems Nokia cancelled this device in 2013. Though above images looks like a press render of the device, so may be the decision to cancel it was taken at the last moment. While the device does look kind of sturdy and well-built it may haven’t found lots of traction due to availability of cheaper “Reading Tablet” options in the market. via : NPU

Soon, Nokia’s contract with Microsoft will be ending. Which means they’ll be able to make smartphones that don’t run on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile platform. That means Android.  While this isn’t the first time Nokia has dabbled into the Android world, it appears this will be the first phone to run true Android and not a forked version. While we can’t see any Google services – any apps at all – in the renders that were leaked on Weibo. It is still a possibility that it could be certified with Google Mobile Services. It’s important to remember here that we don’t have any specs confirmed, and these are all rumors and speculation on the device. But according to Weibo, we’re looking at a 5-inch HD display, powered by an Intel Atom chipset along with 2GB of RAM and a 8MP camera with a 5MP front-facer. At Phones Review we enjoy looking at the odd concept vision of upcoming known devices, but sometimes a completely new idea comes along that sparks our interest. Meet the Nokia Swan new-generation phablet design, a phone that can be opened up to reveal two screens, one that can be used as a virtual keyboard and the other as the display. Many readers would love to see some bold new Nokia devices and the Nokia Swan would certainly fit the bill. It was created by designer Dani Vinh and certainly brings something new to the table.
