Gupta Information Systems: Root OnePlus 3T OnePlus 3 Nougat without losing data

How to root oneplus 3t and oneplus 3 running latest android nougat 7.1.1 based oxygen os. Now this is an update to previous post made on Feb 2017. So check that post for detailed information on basics if you don't know them.

Warning

Rooting seems to be easy but there always risks. Without proper knowledge and any mistake in taking wrong files may cause your device to became brick. Before you start I assume you understand all and willing to do at your will. :)

How to ROOT Guide

Since this is a UPDATE post so, I won't be writing everything here again. I will request to follow some previous posts and videos to check the steps and procedures to take.

First step is to install a custom recovery. I will recommend for TWRP recovery due to wider support of devices. Here is the basic guide on how you can install TWRP on your device (OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 here).
