For the third time in a month, the pre-order price of the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL has been slashed off in Europe. Amazon's local retailer in the U.K. is now offering the high-end phablet for £465 or $703. That's a 12.2 percent discount from its initial price of £530 or $801.

As first sourced by WM Power User, the e-commerce website expects shipment to arrive starting Dec. 12. Available in either white or black, the handset can be bought from Amazon U.K. via monthly instalments.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL sports a 5.7-inch AMOLED 1440 x 2560 Quad HD display and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 SoC. The chipset contains an eight-core 2GHz CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. Memory-wise, there's 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage expandable via a micro-SD card slot up to 200 GB. The lights are kept on by a 3,340 mAh battery, per GSM
Arena.

The front-facing unit is a five-megapixel shooter while the 20-megapixel camera on the back features OIS, triple-LED flash, autofocus, face detection and geo-tagging.

Once geo-tagged, photos and videos will then show up on online maps. Also, the data can be cross-referenced with other geographic information about a particular area or location, Better Evaluation reported.

It's worth mentioning that the latest price cut of the Lumia 950 XL does not affect its smaller sibling. The 5.2-inch Lumia 950 is still priced at the equivalent of $635.

Both the Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950 are fitted with a USB-C port for synching and charging. According to PC Advisor, the Windows 10 smartphones can fast charge up to 50 percent battery life in under 30 minutes.

Both have dual-band 80.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Near Field Communication (NFC). They also feature iris-scanning technology for Windows Hello. The app allows owners to unlock their devices by merely staring at them.

Another bonus feature of the pair of Windows 10 smartphones is the ability to switch from handset to desktop display via the Microsoft Display Dock and Continuum.

The Microsoft Display Dock is a separately sold accessory that connects a keyboard, a monitor and a mouse to the device so it can operate like a Windows 10 desktop computer. Meanwhile, Continuum is a built-in app that lets users carry out their work from any Windows 10-supported device or PC.
With the new App Comparison, Android users who plan on making the switch to Windows 10 Mobile can find out which of their favorite apps are available from the Windows Store.
