Latest leaks about Samsung’s next flagship
in-the-making point towards the S6 Edge Plus sporting a bigger screen
with similar curved edges. As Samsung plans to expand its line of S6
smartphones, the recent revelation follows earlier hints towards a
bigger S6 Edge variant.
Tipped by Twitter user @OnLeaks,
the Samsung S6 Edge Plus is said to measure
154.45x75.80x6.85mm, which
suggests an approximate screen size of 5.5 inches. The predecessors, S6
and S6 Edge shipped with a lesser 5.1-inch screen.
Leaked image of the purported device along with images
of dummy units used to help third-party accessory designers indicate to a
standard microUSB port instead of a larger USB Type-C port.
A report on
Forbes notes that the rumoured device could also include the Snapdragon
808 chipset, instead of Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 CPU that shipped with
the original Galaxy S6 Edge.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge were unveiled earlier this year and were touted as the best smartphones ever made by
the South Korean manufacturer. While Samsung has been pretty much the
inventor of the phablet concept, a big screened Galaxy S6 Edge Plus
could possibly impact its Galaxy Note device that has a legion of fans.
With
definite updates to its Galaxy Note device annually, there is more
possibility of a new Galaxy Note 5 or an update to the Galaxy Note Edge
to be announced later this year than the rumoured S6 Edge Plus.
