oneplus 3 oneplus 3T Open Beta 20 11 update review

OnePlus has update there current OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T devices with the new OS update of Oxygen OS Open Beta. The current version has been updated to Open Beta 11 (OnePlus 3T) and the Open Beta 20 (OnePlus 3).

Official Change Log

According to the OnePlus official forum, see the change log below. Since both the 3 & 3T are running the same version almost so changes seems to be the same too. The change log is,
  • Optimization：
    • Battery saver indication changed from orange status bar to a notification
    • Optimized calculation method for data usage statistics, tracking is now more accurate.
    • Optimized expanded screenshot, now supports capture while gifs and videos are playing. (Experimental)
    • Visual effects improvements for Weather widget
    Bug Fixes：
    • Resolved various 3rd party app crashes
    • Fixed bluetooth device battery status wrongly displayed for non-supported devices
    • Fixed Weather occasionally not being able to retrive forecast data

      Installation

      Based on your device status there can be various possible ways to install the Oxygen OS 4.0.3. I am taking a few common conditions,

      If you are on Open Beta Build

      The only way to get back to the Official build is via adb sideload. For this you have to completely download the flash image for the current build that you are installing, Make sure to have ADB/Fastboot setup installed on your computer. Boot your device in to recovery mode whether you have custom recovery or stock recovery installed or not. We have made a few demo video for this so check it for more details.

      If you are on Official Oxygen Version

      Coming from previous build is always easy and simple. Since OnePlus always pushes incremental update so its easy to wait and install the OTA once it arrives. Still if you can't let wait you have few ways to install. 

      Use VPN Software to update

      Use TWRP method of update on Rooted Device

      This method is also very popular for users who have rooted device. Download the complete flash image of the build and take backup of your previous (current build) and install it. Just copy the flash file on your device memory and reboot to recovery and install there after,  Check the below playlist for more details and video that can guide you on that.
