OnePlus has update there current OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T devices with the new OS update of Oxygen OS. The current version has been updated to 4.0.3 from the 4.0.2 for both the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.

Change Log (Oxygen OS 4.0.3)

According to the OnePlus official forum, see the change log below. Since both the 3 & 3T are running the same version almost so changes seems to be the same too.

Oxygen OS 4.0.3 for OnePlus 3

As mentioned in OnePlus 3 forum here are the changes done for OnePlus 3,

  • Added Wi-Fi IPv6 Support toggle
  • Optimized Smart Wi-Fi Switcher, if turned on, device will switch to data connection if Wi-Fi signal is consistently poor
  • Fixed crashes for Line
  • Increased stability of the Camera app
  • Optimized exposure when taking night time photos
  • Updated Audio Parameters and improved the quality of audio recordings
  • Updated APN settings for select carriers
  • Amazon Prime App will be pre-installed for India Users

Oxygen OS 4.0.3 for OnePlus 3T

As mentioned in OnePlus 3T forum here are the changes done for OnePlus 3,

Known Issues

As the changes made are almost same, the known issues are also similar. According to the OnePlus Official forum here are the known issues,

  • Wi-Fi disconnections
    • If you experience frequent WiFi disconnections, please go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Configure WiFi (Top right hand corner) > Scroll to bottom of the page and check the IP address format (IPv4 = Single line, IPv6 = Multiple lines)> If the IP address is IPv6 based, then turn off the IPv6 Support toggle and see if the disconnections stop.
    • If you experience frequent WiFi disconnections due to switches between WiFi and data, please try turning off the Smart Wi-Fi Switcher at Settings > Wi-Fi > Configure WiFi and see if the disconnections stop

Installation

Based on your device status there can be various possible ways to install the Oxygen OS 4.0.3. I am taking a few common conditions,

If you are on Open Beta Build

The only way to get back to the Official build is via adb sideload. For this you have to completely download the flash image for the current build that you are installing, Make sure to have ADB/Fastboot setup installed on your computer. Boot your device in to recovery mode whether you have custom recovery or stock recovery installed or not. We have made a few demo video for this so check it for more details.

If you are on Oxygen OS 4.0.2 Build

Coming from previous build is always easy and simple. Since OnePlus always pushes incremental update so its easy to wait and install the OTA once it arrives. Still if you can't let wait you have few ways to install. 

Use VPN Software to update

Watch the video for the current Oxygen OS 4.0.3 impressions video and see how you can install using VPN software.

Use TWRP method of update on Rooted Device

This method is also very popular for users who have rooted device. Download the complete flash image of the build and take backup of your previous (current build) and install it. Just copy the flash file on your device memory and reboot to recovery and install there after,
