Lenovo Vibe K5 Note Gold (3GB RAM, 32GB) Gaming Review with heavy multitasking, heat, memory check

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor which is powered with 3GB of RAM, this configuration is well enough to run any high end memory demanding games like Modern Combat 5 and Asphalt 8.

Game Played

We played following game,

  • Temple Run 2
  • Subway Surfer
  • Asphalt 8
  • Modern Combat 5

Game Objective

Our objective of this gaming review is not to just see whether game runs without any lags and frasme drops, instead we also want o see how does the phone performs when the we try to run many games to-gather.

Game Demo

We have made a detailed review video, you can watch the video and can feel the performance of the device.

Observations

Here are our observations after the complete gaming experience.
  • We didn't noticed a single frame drop during the entire play. (Even if there are a few say 1, it must have been went unnoticed)
  • Switching to another games doesn't take time at all. No system level loading.
  • The device gets slightly warmer on the right side of the camera where the processor chip must be beneath.
  • The center of the phone also gets slightly warmer but less compared to top right corner.
  • The response of the touch and display is smooth.
  • Sensors are working very smooth.

Memory Consumption

On checking how much memory each game is taking, we head to the battery section under settings, On an average, heavy games like Asphalt and Modern Combat takes 500 - 600 MB of RAM. Considering the phone has 3 GB RAM installed, this should be fine ad the device id working absolutely fine.

Battery Consumption

This is the most important part of our demo, since after passing the Memory test, the battery should be lasting good. We started our demo on 85% battery. After a filming of roughly 10 min(uncut), the battery moves to 82%. This is very good performance. Just to mention here we used the full brightness level with Auto mode.

Final Verdict

Lenovo vibe k5 Note is good in terms of gaming, With a slight heating issues on top right to camera, Since the display is Full HD IPD LCD, it wont take that much of the battery considering the screen size and comparing it with QHD display phones.. No matter how long you play game, its a recommended device under this price segment.
