Windows Phone drops to 1.7%

Whats New In Windows : Windows Phone drops to 1.7% compared to 3% of last year: Gartner

Windows Phone's market share has dropped from 3 percent last year to 1.7 percent in Q3 of 2015, according to Gartner.

Windows Phone just hit a new all-time low in the third quarter of 2015, according to a report from research firm Gartner. According to its latest findings, Windows Phone only accounted for 1.7 percent market share in the quarter, as opposed to the 3 percent it commanded from the same period a year ago.

The latest report from Gartner says that a total of 353 million smartphones were sold during the quarter, which has gone up by 15.5 percent compared to sales in the same period last year. Though the number of Windows Phone devices sold during the quarter only amounted to 5.874 million units for the Redmond-based tech giant, down from 9.033 million units its shipped in the same period last year.

Moreover, it seems things will continue to look bleak for the Windows maker as Gartner suggests that the forthcoming launch of Windows 10 Mobile is not going to make much of an impact, at least in terms of overall market share.

“Despite the announcement of Windows 10, we expect Windows smartphone market share will continue to be a small portion of the overall smartphone OS market as consumers remain attracted by competing ecosystems,” said Roberta Cozza, Research Director at Gartner. “Microsoft smartphones will mainly focus on driving value for enterprise users.”

Talking about the performance of other smartphone manufacturers, the latest report reveals that Samsung and Apple have yet again cemented the first two spots for the quarter. While China’s Huawei bagged the third spot apparently recording the highest growth in smartphone sales for the quarter, as its market share stood at 7.7 percent for Q3 this year, compared to the 5.2 percent market share for the same period last year.

While in terms of OS adoption rate, Apple’s iOS continued its strong performance and grew by 21 percent while Google’s Android grew by 1.4 percent year over year courtesy of Samsung and Huawei thanks to their strong smartphone sales.

Nothing Phone 2: There's something in marketing gimmick

Nothing Phone 2 Squabble: Nothing priced its first phone (Nothing Phone) at 32,000 on July 12, 2022. The phone was distinct because to its glyph light feature and distinctive operating system. Nothing has also developed Nothing EAR (TWS), a Landon-based firm that has sold over 1 million units worldwide as of the end of 2022. Here is our whole Nothing Phone 2 review. Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing Nothing Technology Limited (stylized as NOTHING), has introduced Nothing Phone 2, and people are discussing his marketing techniques rather than his products. They implement a twofold embargo for artists; it appears that they are encouraging influencers to engage in dark marketing. Mr. Rakesh, alias Gyan Therapy, made a video opposing the embargo while everyone else was busy fluffing it.  So, following the contentious embargo, I've discovered two major reasons to avoid Nothing Phone 2: 1. Expensive Pricing: The Nothing Phone 2 costs roughly 45,000 INR, which is 5,000 INR higher than the Oneplus ...
