Windows 10 Mobile Build 10586 Installation Instruction and Important Points

Microsoft has released a new build of Windows 10 Mobile today that is RTM build that will be arriving with the Lumia 950 that goes on-sale this week.

The build no that we got on Insiders fast is 10586.11 and the one released with 950 is 10586. The insider build no is higher due to looping issue been fixed when you reset your device.

Before we begin, make sure to have complete backup. There are stil couple of known issues that are left and it can still cause you damage. If you have a more than one lumia phones, try it on other then jump tp your primary device with new installation.

Before you go

First if you have PC/Laptop connected then take a complete backup via USB connection.
Run backup and store your messages, settings on cloud.
Move most of the data to SD card if you are having WP8.1. for users running W10M TP you con't due to Storage bug on 10581.

Now installation instruction.

Watch the video and detailed steps of installation on our app cellphone. I will mention the links needed under description.
Make sure to fully charge your handset and if possible let it plugged in.
Make sure to have at least 2.5 GB free storage. Our installation failed on having 2 GB memory left on 640 XL.
The installation size is around 1.8 GB after you install it.
The files that you have to download is around 760 MB, so make sure you have wi-fi connection. on Mobile Data connection it won't work.
The download will take around 30 min - 60 min depends on your network speed.
Installation will take around 30 minutes.

For any failure

1. In case your installation went in to loop. Don't get panic, download the windows device recovery tool.
2. For detailed instruction check the instructions mentioned in cellphone app.
3. Download the software version available. It may be around 1.5 - 2 GB.
4. Roll back to WP8.1.
5. Install the W10M build 10586.

Its a little time consuming but its worth it.
