WhatsApp 2.13.8 for Nokia Symbian: A Must-Have Update for Nokia Asha Users

WhatsApp is an effective tool when it comes to connecting friends and relatives regardless of their places of residence. Other than text messages, users of this application can also exchange video, audio as well as picture messages. This is an amazing way of knowing what’s up with your friends and relatives, especially in areas where the text isn’t just ideal.

The voice calling feature of WhatsApp was introduced a few months ago, and since it was introduced, more people have been joining this platform. Based on the recent growth patterns, WhatsApp adds about 100 million users to its platform every 3-4 months. If this is true, then we will possibly see the app’s user base rise from 900 million to 1 billion by the end of the year.

What makes this milestone achievable for Facebook-owned WhatsApp is the fact that it offers free messaging services as long as both the sender and the recipients are connected to the internet. Whether it’s through Wi-Fi or mobile data, all messages exchanged through this platform as well as the calls made through the app are free of charge. However, you should keep in mind that mobile data requires subscriptions; hence, this may attract some charges from your carrier.

There is one problem with this app, though. It’s only free for the first one year and after that, all users, whether iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Symbian or BlackBerry, must pay for using the app for the second and subsequent years.


WhatsApp for Symbian OS

 As noted above, WhatsApp is supported on quite a number of mobile platforms, among them iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry 10 and Nokia Symbian. This piece is going to shed some light on the latter platform with respect to the latest updates, features and bug fixes.
Well, you must be thinking that this app always rolls out updates and as such, there is nothing new with the latest WhatsApp 2.13.8 for Symbian. Yes, you are right! However, there is no update that comes in without anything that is a benefit to the user, so always make sure that you update to the latest version available.


Latest version is available for Nokia Asha and Nokia C3

 Symbian users get a WhatsApp update every month, which is contrary to what happens with Android users, who even get more than two updates in a week. As a result, the latest update means a lot to this group of users. If you use any of Nokia Asha or Nokia C3, you should be able to download and install the latest version of WhatsApp 2.13.8 on your phone.The new version, even though it lacks new features, it comes in with a bunch of bug fixes from the old version.
Installing the app is also a very easy task. Just head to the official Opera Mobile Store and download the latest version for your device. Once the file is downloaded, find the .jad file and select it to start theinstallation. The process is the same, and you will still need to provide your phone number for this to work. Once you are done, you can now start enjoying the services of WhatsApp on your Nokia Symbian phone.


The improvements in the new version are obvious, and you will easily notice them. However, lack of a new feature means there is still no WhatsApp calling on Nokia Symbian platform, but Facebook developers will for sure do something about this situation shortly.
