Whats New In Windows : Microsoft removes Android subsystem from latest build of Windows 10 Mobile
It seems however something has gone wrong with this important feature, as Microsoft has removed the subsystem in the latest 10549 Build of the OS. Interestingly the subsystem files are still present in the recently released emulator, which runs build 10563. However, keep in mind that Astoria may not be available in the next Windows 10 Mobile build either as Microsoft may not include the Android subsystem files on the next build, too.
WindowsBlogItalia, who first reported the news, claims the reason for the removal was due to the Android subsystem slowly degrading Windows 10 Mobile, which is oddly fitting given the long-term concerns Windows phone fans have about introducing Android apps to our OS.
Our sources tell us the removal is just temporary, but do our readers agree this is a bad omen for the whole Android on Windows Mobile idea? Let us know below.
