Lumia 950 / 950 XL to Run Threshold 1 Windows 10 Mobile
The Microsoft Windows team is working hard at the Windows 10 Mobile release, but time is running short with the release of the upcoming Windows flagships, Lumia
950 and Lumia 950 XL. In fact, a new report suggests that the new
flagship phones might release with the Threshold 1 version of Windows 10
Mobile.
Microsoft
is apparently working day and night on the Threshold 2 version of
Windows 10 Mobile, which can be expected to bring several improvements.
However, the Windows expert, Mary Jo Foley, recently said that the Threshold 2 wouldn’t be finished by the release of new hardware.
WinBeta reported that the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are
going to be released with Threshold 1 – most probably Windows 10 Mobile
build 10240 – but will have several patches and fixes in place to make
the experience easy and complete, at least until Threshold 2 hits the
devices.
However, luckily, the delay
might not be too long; it is being said that the Threshold 2 will be
ready for manufacturing companies by November, so users will hopefully
not have to wait that long for an upgrade.
