Will the 2015 Nexus really feature a 3D camera? Leak suggests so

The picture you see below, claimed to be “very raw material” drawing of the 2015 Nexus, has been leaked suggesting the back layout of the upcoming LG-made 2015 Nexus.

It looks like a back cover to us, and we won’t debate its veracity, but, instead remain skeptical. The leak suggests that there will be a camera, a flash, and something else, which could be a fingerprint scanner, or another camera.

There were rumors that claimed the upcoming 2015 Nexus will feature a 3D camera, and we asked ourselves (and you) whether that would be a good idea or not. Some of us are intrigued by this, but we do know from past experience that the industry has already tried 3D stereoscopic cameras on smartphones, and it didn’t work out.

The drawing is claimed to originate from a case maker who allegedly whipped it up real quick based on little information from those who are claimed to know more details. However, the leak also claims that this is a very early bit of information, and that things can change. However, we can’t see major things changing, and we’re referring to those two circles. If this would be made by Motorola, we’d immediately yell “dimple”, but knowing LG, we’re inclined to believe that it might be a secondary camera. Whether stereoscopic (for 3D), or focus assist (and after effects, like One M8), is yet anyone’s guess. What do you think?
