The LG G4 And Nexus 2015 Are Just The Beginning For LG

The LG G4 and Nexus 5 are just the tip of LG’s 2015 mobile strategy...

The LG G4 is a very good handset. It has awesome specs, great hardware and it runs like a charm. But LG isn’t done for 2015 -- not by a long shot. Not only is the company producing Google’s upcoming Nexus handset, but it also has another, even better flagship on the cards as well.
And best of all? The handset is now official; well, sort of -- LG’s CEO confirmed its existence during its recent earnings call. Sadly, though, we don’t have anything more concrete than that.
But that’s never stopped us before.

According to LG, the handset will be super premium which implies new build materials, like metals. Beyond this the phone is expected to pack in a 5.8in QHD panel, placing it firmly in phablet territory, and Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 820 CPU as well as 4GB of RAM.

Where it gets slightly more interesting is to do with names, branding and design. What will this handset be called? Will it be a new product line? LG can’t really release ANOTHER G4 variant -- there’s four already -- so a brand new product line seems the most likely outcome.

The handset is expected to land in late-2015 and is no doubt designed to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 and Apple’s iPhone 6s -- both of which are expected in August and September, respectively.
