This is very interesting and somewhat challenges all the rumors and leaks that you may have read from us and other regarding a certain Lumia 940 or Lumia 950
. A prototype with 5.2-inch, 1080p display and running Snapdragon 810 has leaked in China. By design it looks very similar to Lumia 730
except for the camera module at the back that houses a big camera unit
without hump. The leakster has compared the prototype to Lumia 830,
Lumia 640 and even Lumia 730 to give you an idea about its design and
size.
It shouldn’t be Lumia 840 or Lumia 850,
as it runs on Snapdragon 810, while Lumia 940 is supposed to come with
Snapdragon 808. It can’t be the Lumia 940 too, as it has only 1080p
display and again runs on Snapdragon 810.
But if you compare this prototype’s specs to the leaked RM-1106 variant at GFXBench, somethings look similar. The RM-1106
was listed with Adreno 430 GPU but with Hexa-core processor. Since
Adreno 430 comes only with Snapdragon 810, it was a mystery and may be
now this prototype solves that mystery. It may be running Snapdragon 810
only with 2 cores idle. The only worrying thing that emerges out of
this comparison is the 1080p display instead of rumored 2K display. So, this muddies the waters again!!
