Microsoft Lumia 940 vs Lumia 1030: Release Date, Specs, Features & Price Roundup [Latest Rumors]

  • For mobile users and Lumia fans who are mulling over buying either a Microsoft Lumia 940 or a Nokia Lumia 1030, it would be helpful to know how these two devices fair with each other and which is a better buy. We have summed up necessary information below to help you decide what to buy between these two new and powerful phones.


    Microsoft Lumia 940

    Franchise Herald said that the upcoming phone will reportedly have a 5.2 inch screen display and a 24-25 MP camera which is an upgrade to the previous 20 MP of Lumia 930. The report also noted rumors that the Lumia 940 will also come with interesting features like 3D-interaction, Iris scanner, and native Pen support.

    Adding to the features of this new phone, VM Power User said that it will also come with a 5 MP or higher front facing camera.

    "We know that Windows 10 for Phones will bring support for Hexa-core and Octa-core processors. We don't have confirmed info about processor and display resolution as of now but Microsoft may go for bleeding-edge specs, we hear," the same report added.

    A similar BreatheCast report discussed that the device is expected to be available later this year, with it noting that the earliest possible time is April 29. All Specs said it may cost around $600 for the 32 GB storage.

    With the upcoming release of Lumia 940, it has been reported that users can also expect a dual-sim version of the Lumia 830 in the coming months.


    Nokia Lumia 1030

    According to Ecumenical News, this Lumia phone is expected by users to be available on the market during the second quarter of this year though it failed to specify the month. The Lumia 1030 is rumored to run on the Windows 10 operating system, thus making it a very powerful phone.

    This device, according to Ecumenical News, may sport a 50 MP high resolution camera, which will truly capture images with precise and accurate detail.

    "It is believed that Microsoft will also incorporate its 3D touch technology with next-generation sensors in the Lumia 1030," the report added.

    As for its outside structure, Lumia 1030 is said to have a metal-shaped solid frame which will make it highly durable. Aside from this, the phone is also claimed to have a 5.8-inch quad HD display (1440x2560 resolution) and powered by a quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

    Rumored to cost around $1000, the Lumia 1030 will also reportedly have a 2 MP front facing camera and a 2,000 mAh battery.

    Techno Chilly added that the phone is expected to have a 5.8-inch HD display along with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and its screen protected with a fourth gen Corning gorilla glass.
